MBSA models

Some examples of public models are provided in this section. They come both from research (IRT projects, ONERA…) and industry (SATODEV, ARP4761 standard…). Two CECILIA libraries, one Boolean and the other generic, are also available.

Examples

this model was developed with CECILIA, in parallel with the activities carried out by the EUROCAE WG63 and SAE S18 working groups as part of the drafting of the EUROCAE ED-135A / SAE ARP4761A guides. It illustrates the MBSA model described in Appendix Q9 and represents one way of modeling an aircraft wheel braking system.

NOTA:
• For Cecilia export, extract the ARP4761_model_[Cecilia_6 .n].xml file from the archive and import it into Cecilia Workshop version 6.0 or higher, or into the “Cecilia reader”..
• For DocBook export, extract the file ARP4761_model.docbook.xml from the archive and open it in an editor.
• The equivalent fault tree has been designed by another team to compare the FTA and MBSA approaches.

Libraries

To facilitate the user’s task, two libraries are available:

a Boolean library
and its modeling rules

You’ll be able to find the classic Boolean algebra elements and logic gates, and compare your results with those generated from a fault tree.

If you have any comments (errors, inconsistencies, suggestions for improvement):

a generic library
and its modeling rules

This library will enable you to model your first MBSA models. This is the library used in the “MBSA for professionals” training course You can also use it as a basis for specifying a library specific to your needs, your field and your expertise.
